wonderful

I'm in my 70s and havent read Maugham since my early 20s. This collection is priceless for anyone who enjoys quality literary craftsmanship. Vivid characters, classic prose, spellbinding storytelling, surprise twists,climactic endings; Maughm captures it all. Very few present day writers equal his comprehensive literary skills. Wonderfual hours of captivating reading on my wonderful Kindle.

Maugham's writing is excellent. My problem with the "...Nine Novels in One" Kindle edition is that it came up in a list produced when I searched Amazon for Maugham's novel, "The Razor's Edge", which was chosen for reading by my book club. With "The Razor's Edge" being one of the writer's most important works, it never occurred to me that a compilation of nine novels would omit it, but in fact, the collection does not include it. I fault myself for failing to determine which novels are included before placing my order, but at $1.99 for the collection, it is not actually a loss - "Of Human Bondage", a novel I have already read, is included. Maugham is one of our greatest writers and I'm sure I will find treasures in this product. In the meanwhile, I had to order "The Razor's Edge", finding it less expensive as a used paperback than as it is priced for Kindle.

Review of Somerset Maugham's works.

Somerset Maugham has been my all time favorite author from my childhood. Growing up in India,we are exposed much to British than American literature. Though I moved to U.S.A half a century ago, my fascination for Maugham never diminished. Since I got my Kindle, it became so easy now to connect with Maugham again. He probably is one of two or three all time authors that can weave a first class novel as well as a intriguing short story. Thank you Amazon for making his revival, so to speak.
